What a session looks like

Forty-five minutes. Every round earned.

  1. Warm-up & footwork

Shadowboxing, stance and movement drills. Your heart rate is up before the first punch lands.

    5–8 min
  2. Technique

Stance, guard, then the jab, cross, hook and uppercut — one or two things fixed per session, not twenty.

    10–15 min
  3. Pad work

Combinations on the mitts in timed rounds. This is where the skill and the cardio meet.

    15–20 min
  4. Conditioning rounds

Bodyweight power, core and boxing-specific intervals, adjusted to your level.

    8–10 min
  5. Cooldown & notes

Mobility, breathing and what we work on next. Every session is logged.

Who it's for

No experience required.

Complete beginners

Never thrown a punch? Good. Boxing lessons for beginners start with stance and the jab, and you'll be throwing proper combinations by session three.

Fat loss & conditioning

Boxing is interval cardio you'll actually look forward to. Pair it with strength days for the fastest change.

Stress & confidence

Hitting the pads after a day in the city does something a treadmill never will. Coordination, confidence and calm come as side effects.

Athletes & lifters

Add footwork, hand speed and an engine to a strength base. Fits alongside any program you're already running.

Most clients don't box every session. A typical week mixes boxing with strength and conditioning under one plan and one price — the package buys sessions, and we decide together what each one is.

A partner or spouse from the same household can join any session for $50 — pad work in pairs is a good way to start.

Boxing questions

Quick answers

Q.Is this real boxing or fitness boxing?

Real technique — stance, footwork, the four punches, defense — taught for fitness. You'll learn to box properly; you won't be hit.

Q.Will I spar?

No. There's no sparring and no ring. The only contact is your gloves on the coach's mitts.

Q.Do I need my own gloves?

No. We bring gloves, wraps and mitts to every session. If you fall in love with it, we'll recommend a pair of your own.

Q.My Hoboken apartment is small. Is there room?

Almost always. About eight by eight feet of clear floor is enough — a living room with the coffee table moved. Building gyms with an open stretching area are ideal.

Q.How fast will I learn?

Stance and a clean jab in session one, the four punches by session three, and flowing combinations on the pads soon after. The pace is yours.

Q.Can I combine boxing with strength training?

Yes — that's the whole idea. Most weeks rotate strength, conditioning and boxing under one plan. See the programs.
